The Hermes

Walt: to take information and put it into our writing

I really enjoyed doing this. I hope you like my article about Emma Twigg. I really enjoyed doing this. My class did the start and then we had to carry on.  The Hermes is a newspaper that I made up.

THE HERMES

Emma Advances - By Room 1

Emma Twigg, serial Olympian, advanced to the semi finals with a convincing win in the Quarter finals last

Sunday in Tokyo.

This is Emma’s fourth Olympics and her fourth time advancing to the Semi finals. In Rio she placed fourth

by less than a second and she has returned reinvigorated by the culture in the NZ team and she says

‘it’s an honour wearing the Silver Fern’. She also has had expert coaching tips from her nephew who said

she needs to train harder. After this advice she pushed herself to row over 26km daily which she told him

from Tokyo.

She is a single sculler and has been a world champion in the last 10 years. She is one of the favourites to

win, she has the fastest time in her heats so far. Her fastest time in Tokyo is 7.35min. She has come 4th

in all of her Olympics.

We are all hoping she wins the gold medal for NZ.

70s music

WALT: Learn about music through the ages.

Recently for music through the ages we have been looking at the sweet tunes of the 70s. We have found some goodies. We each had to choose 2. My two are Highway to hell by ACDC and Dancing Queen by abba. I really enjoyed this.

What is your favourite old song?

Winter Sports

Today for winter sports we played hockey against Banks Ave who absolutely steam rolled us, 7-0.  But after we bet South Brighton  7-0. They played really well. I really enjoyed Hockey today because my Aunty soph and my Granddad were coaching. Our team played very well and I am looking forward to next week.

Do you play any sports?
