WALT: Write instructions.
We got an option on what we were allowed to do. We could do anything, so I chose to do a boat in a jar. It is pretty fun to do and it is easy. I enjoyed and was glad I did not choose anything else.
Will you consider doing this?
A boat in a jar!
You will need:
1. A middle sized jar
2. Rice
3. Food colouring (blue and green)
4. Fimo or clay
5. A toothpick
6. Paper
7. Blue tack
Method:
Get the rice and put it in a bowl. You will only need about 2 and a half tablespoons.
Put in about 3 drops of blue food colouring and about 2 drops of green. Mix the rice around in the bowl and when it is coloured all through, stop. Put in a tiny bit of white rice and mix. Put it to one side and get out the fimo or clay. Shape it into a half circle shape. Stick the toothpick into the flat bit of the boat but not too deep. Pull it out again. Put the fimo (if you are using it) onto a tray and put in the oven to bake. If you are using air drying clay, pop it to one side. Now we are gonna use the paper. Fold it in half and cut into a half triangle. Make sure you do it right on the edge. Fold it on the toothpick so it looks like a sail and stick together with blue tack. When the fimo or clay is done (if it is clay, paint it) put the sail in the hole. Put some blue tack on the bottom of the boat. Slip the boat into the jar and push down so it sticks. When the rice is dry put it in the jar. Close tight.
Now you have got a boat in a jar.
